VP Shettima Don Return Nigeria After UNGA Meeting
Vice President Kashim Shettima don return Nigeria after e represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) wey happen for New York, United States.
Shettima comot Abuja on September 20 to lead Nigeria delegation to the annual global meeting. For the meeting, e present President Tinubu’s national statement and call for reform of the UN Security Council, including permanent representation for Africa.
The Vice President also talk about better financing for development, stronger support for climate action, and more cooperation between countries. For one meeting on Africa minerals, Nigeria call on African countries to stop depending mainly on export of raw minerals and focus more on processing, manufacturing, and adding value to the resources.
Shettima also attend high-level meeting on education financing, where e reaffirm Nigeria commitment to education as important investment for human capital and national development. E also meet Nigerians living abroad, ECOWAS Commission leadership, and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed.
During the different meetings, the Vice President discuss issues around development financing, regional cooperation, technology, economic development, peace and security, while presenting Nigeria’s position on the need for fairer global system.
