DATTI BABA-AHMED: I LEAVE PETER OBI BECAUSE E NO GET PLAN FOR NAIJA
Former Labour Party presidential running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, don explain why e decide to part ways with Peter Obi, saying one of the major reasons be say Obi no get clear plan for Nigeria.
Datti and Obi work together under Labour Party for the 2023 presidential election, with Datti serving as Obi running mate. But after the election, Obi leave Labour Party, first move to African Democratic Congress (ADC) before later becoming the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 election.
Speaking during interview on Symfoni TV, Datti say he worked very hard to support Obi during the 2023 election, and he still respect am despite the political differences between them. However, he explained say he had earlier told Obi that he needed to develop a clear plan for how he wanted to govern Nigeria.

Datti make am clear say Peter Obi no abandon am, but na him personally decide to leave because, according to him, Obi did not have a plan for Nigeria. He also expressed disappointment over some of the political moves Obi has made since their 2023 presidential campaign.
Datti further said he no want to unfairly promote Obi, Atiku Abubakar or other opposition politicians without what he considers to be a good reason. He maintained that fairness remains important to him, even though he acknowledged the role he played in supporting Obi during the previous election.
According to Datti, his decision to leave does not mean say he has completely turned against Peter Obi. He said Obi knows that he stood firmly behind him in the past and that he still has some level of support for him, but he is unhappy with the direction of some of Obi’s political decisions.
The comments don add another layer to the ongoing political discussions ahead of the 2027 presidential election, especially as opposition politicians continue to debate how best to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party.
