Osun LG Crisis: APC Don Warn Adeleke Administration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) for Osun State don raise serious concern over wetin e describe as “victimisation” of local government workers based on their alleged political affiliation.

For statement wey the party Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, sign, Osun APC allege say some local government workers dey face investigation and disciplinary proceedings simply because dem allegedly support the APC during the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

According to the party, the Osun State Local Government Service Commission don set up a committee to investigate some council workers wey dem suspect say dem support the opposition during the election.

APC also identify Tunji Adeleke Jnr as chairman of the committee. The party say Tunji Adeleke Jnr na the governor’s nephew and chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.

The party further claim say some local government workers don already receive summons to appear before an investigative and disciplinary panel at the commission’s office inside the Osun State Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo.

APC allege say during the investigation, the workers were questioned about their political activities, the people wey dem associate with, and their contacts before and during the election.

The party also raise concern over allegation say some workers were asked to submit their mobile phones for examination. According to APC, messages and other communications on the phones were allegedly checked to find out whether the workers had links with APC members and supporters.

The party strongly criticised the alleged action, saying government workers should not face punishment or harassment because of the political party wey dem support.

APC therefore warn the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration to stop what the party described as political victimisation and intimidation of local government employees.

The party described the alleged treatment of the workers as unfair and unconstitutional, and called on the state government to respect the rights of workers irrespective of their political affiliation.
