COV-OPTICS DON OPEN NEW EYE HOSPITAL FOR SOUTH-EAST, PROMISE QUALITY AND AFFORDABLE EYE CARE

COV-OPTICS Eye Hospital don officially open its new South-East Regional Headquarters for Awka, Anambra State, as part of efforts to bring better, modern and affordable eye-care services closer to people for Anambra and the entire South-East region.

The new facility, wey dey located for Queen of Hearts Close, off Old INEC Road, Okpuno, Awka, go provide different eye-care services, including proper eye examination, early detection of eye diseases, diagnosis and treatment, with modern equipment and trained professionals.

The Founder and Chief Optometrist of COV-OPTICS, Dr Chikodi Oranuka, explain say one of the major reasons behind the establishment of the hospital na to help reduce cases of avoidable blindness through early detection and proper treatment.

According to am, many people dey ignore changes for their eyesight or dey wait until their condition don become serious before dem go hospital. He therefore advised members of the public to make regular eye examination part of their normal health routine, just like how dem dey check blood pressure or other health conditions.

Dr Oranuka also warn say lack of awareness, late presentation to hospital and the high cost of eye treatment fit make some eye problems worse and, for some cases, lead to permanent loss of sight.

He assured residents say COV-OPTICS go continue to put quality, professionalism and patient satisfaction at the centre of its operations. He said the new hospital get modern diagnostic equipment and experienced eye-care professionals who are ready to give patients proper attention and treatment.

The founder also stressed that affordability go remain one of the priorities of the hospital, especially for people wey may not get enough money to afford quality eye-care services.

COV-OPTICS journey for Anambra, according to the founder, start about four years ago from a small rented apartment. From that humble beginning, the organisation don grow into a modern eye hospital with bigger facilities and wider capacity to attend to patients.

Dr Oranuka said the new facility also carry a special emotional meaning for am because the hospital dey dedicated to the memory of his late father, Chief Christopher Oranuka, who he described as one of the people wey inspired him to pursue medicine and serve humanity.

As part of activities to celebrate the grand opening, COV-OPTICS announce one week of free eye examinations for residents of Anambra and neighbouring communities.
